Visiting this Old Pearl River swamp I spied 800 year-old cypress trees, tupelos, gators, coons, hogs, herons, and some off-the-grid homosapians. The people living here have put up shacks accessible only by boat. They are from diverse backgrounds yet are sharing folks, evidenced by their "Cajun Refrigerators" - a mesh cage where they put extra fish from their catch for the neighbors.
But the hogs here, an invasive, are more akin to humans elsewhere on the planet... Very intelligent, overpopulated, and they think nothing of destroying anything in their path for what they want, uprooting entire trees to get to a nest of insects.
